Mide Macauly - Mr. Mac - Assistant Principal

When I first started teaching in Houston, TX.  One of my students had difficulty saying my name, so she decided to start calling me Mr. Mac.  Ever since then, my education persona, Mr. Mac was born.  I was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria where I grew up with my grand parents.  After several years, I moved to the United States to join my mother.  I have lived in several places in America, from Cincinnati to Los Angeles.  I attended Illinois Math and Science Academy.  This is best high school ever, well our school, Animo New Locke 2 CHS, will become the best.  My boarding school experience (yes we had to live at school) exposed me to so many new things and laid the foundation for who I was to become.  Thanks to my stellar education, I was able to enroll at the University of Southern California, where I studied Psychology, Sociology, and Neuroscience. 

I decided to go into teaching because I believe that education is the ultimate civil right that enables one to attain true freedom.  Education gives you options, and there’s nothing more powerful than a person with options.  Why limit yourself? 

I worked at Markham Middle School for 7 years as an 8th grade science teacher, 7th grade science teacher, Leadership teacher, and Youth Lead Gang Intervention teacher.  I am strict and firm, but I’ll make sure everything is enjoyable.  I really do believe that students come first.

I enjoy ALL sports, especially soccer.  If you have any issues or problems, my door is always open.

This is going to be an outstanding school year, guaranteed!!
