Students Thrive Here

Ánimo Jefferson Charter Middle School is located in Los Angeles, California. It serves 6th, 7th, & 8th grade students in the communities of Downtown, Vernon, and Central Alameda. In 2010, Green Dot decided to open a network of middle schools to boost 8th grade achievement levels and improve the outcomes of students entering high school. Ánimo Jefferson was founded on the site of Ánimo Ralph Bunche and provides the community with a potential seven-year pathway to college success. The school is already outperforming comparable local schools and is well on its way to closing the achievement gap with schools in more affluent and less socially impacted communities.
