Message from the Principal

The attendance rate for August was of 97.1%. Great job parents and students

I was asked several weeks ago why parents have to do parent hours. Here is what I shared with that mom

Animo Leadership asks parents to do a minimum of 30 hours for one simple and main reason. We can not do everything ourselves, it takes all of us working together to accomplish the dreams and aspirations that we all have for every student. We strongly believe that your presence in the school lets the students know that their parents care, love, and want what is best for their own kids and all the students here at Animo Leadership.

Here are a few suggestions on how you can get your hours done

Supervision during a school even (dance, football game, fieldtrip)

Supervision in the morning, lunch or after school

Supporting different club events

Coming to parent meetings. Next parent meeting 10/3/07

These are just a few of many ways. If you are having a hard time and need more suggestions please feel free to come by the school so we can come up with a plan to help you out.

Other Highlights

College Trips

A group of 14 students with a GPA of 3.5 and higher the week of September the 16th visited, Wesley College, Boston University, Babson College, Boston College, Harvard University, and MIT in Boston and in New York we visited St. John’s University, NYU, Columbia University, and Yale in Connecticut. The students got a real understanding of what is going to take in order to get into some of those schools.

I want to thank our Animo Leadership alumni for their help and support while on the trip; Gloria, Victor Enriquez, Victor Garcia, Angelo, and Kevin it was great seeing you and we are all very proud of you.

This week a group of 35 students will visiting USC and Cal State LA, and next month a group of 33 students will be visiting Northern California Universities. Any question please contact Mr. Montejano

School Dance

Student Government you did an awesome job with our first dance of the year. It was well organize, very well decorated, and most important you had great music. The students dance to techno, regetton, rap, hip-hop, merenge, punta, salsa, ranchera and yes even country music. I was impressed to have witness the whole dance floor doing the electric slide.

I want to thank all the parents and teachers that help with the supervision of the dance, you all made a great difference.
