Green Dot Public Schools' mission is to help transform public education so ALL students graduate prepared for college, leadership, and life. Twelve weeks in the making, the Hockey-Bot competition will showcase the engineering and computer science work of more than 100 students from Ánimo Leadership, Ánimo Inglewood, and Ánimo Pat Brown Charter High Schools. More than 36 teams have entered the competition, which will take place Wednesday, February at Ánimo Pat Brown Charter High School.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti will meet Friday with members of United Parents, a group committed to empowering parents and families with the tools they need to eliminate the barriers to learning their children face and the issues that inhibit the quality of life in their neighborhoods. United Parents is a parent-driven organization with trainings and workshops provided by Green Dot Public Schools.
