You'll Change Lives
In joining Green Dot, you will be joining a major force for education reform, transforming schools and neighborhoods that previously were denied great educational opportunities. You will get to forever change the life trajectories of your students, preparing them for success in college, leadership and life.
We Support Your Professional Development
We believe that great teachers are the most important factor to providing an excellent education. Green Dot has collaborated with The College-Ready Promise (TCRP), a partnership of four high-performing charter management organizations and The Gates Foundation, to develop a first-class professional development and support system for our teachers.
Collaborate with Talented Colleagues
Every day Green Dot teachers say that the skillfulness and passion of their colleagues provide inspiration. We give teachers time and opportunities to collaborate through daily planning time, weekly professional development sessions and quarterly collaboration days.
Learn from Experienced School Leaders
Our school leaders are highly-vetted and highly-trained to ensure that they can build unified, high-performing teams and coach you to improve your teaching. Becoming a school leader at Green Dot is a highly competitive process, and our leaders are accountable to deliver results.
We're A Community
Our average teacher-to-student ratio is 24, and our maximum class size is 33 students. We believe smaller class sizes enable our teachers to more successfully differentiate instruction. The small school environment (500-600 students) is safer for students and provides a sense of community and stability.
Become A Leader
As you achieve mastery of your teaching, you will have the opportunity to take on formal and informal leadership roles within the school such as:
Data Fellow – Empower your colleagues with timely, actionable data and skills to use it
Teacher Leader Facilitator – Facilitate professional development sessions for your colleagues
Teacher Leader Academy – Receive training to hone your coaching and inquiry group facilitation
Administrator in Residence – Develop your full-range of school leadership competencies
We Provide The Support You Need
You can stay focused on instruction since our IT team makes sure your technology is working, our facilities team maintains impeccable facilities and our operations team ensures well-resourced, efficiently-run schools. Our schools also have counselors and psychologists to support a variety of student needs.
You're Worth It!
We pay 3-5% more than the school district and believe your benefits are an important part of your total compensation. We are proud to provide a comprehensive package to fit the needs of you and your family members, and we'll match your 8% contribution to CalSTRS by 8.25%.
