To-Do List

Seniors

  1. Write or email four-year colleges and universities to obtain applications for admission and scholarship information.
  2. Complete a Brag Sheet.
  3. Register for the SAT Reasoning Test and the ACT; in addition also register for the SAT Subject Tests or ACT with writing if required.
  4. Listen to the daily bulletins so you are aware of important announcements such as scholarship and financial aid deadlines as well as dates for college representative visits.
  5. Decide if you want to apply early. Discuss with parents and your college counselor.
  6. Apply for free and reduced lunch if you are eligible. If you are eligible, you are entitled to fee waivers for college tests and some college application fees.
  7. Schedule a meeting with your counselor.
  8. Stay focused! You are almost at the finish line!
  9. Make sure to make up any credits missing for graduation.

Juniors

  1. Work hard. Stay focused. Keep up your grades. Take the most challenging classes you can do well in. This is an extremely important year for college admissions.
  2. Take the PSAT test in October.
  3. In the Spring, make an appointment to see a College Counselor.
  4. In the Spring, take the SAT Reasoning Test or ACT and SAT Subject Tests, if required.
  5. Begin your research on colleges. Keep a file.
  6. Get involved in activities that are meaningful to you.
  7. Plan summer enrichment activities.
  8. Make sure to make up any credits missing for graduation.

Freshmen and Sophomores

  1. Work hard. Stay Focused. Keep up your grades. Develop strong study skills.
  2. Take the most challenging classes you can do well in.
  3. Take the PSAT in October.
  4. Attend the College Fair.
  5. Get involved in extra-curricular activities that are meaningful to you.
  6. Plan summer enrichment activities.
  7. Start to explore and discuss college options. Keep a file.
  8. Make sure to make up any credits missing for graduation.
