If you have a day off of work or would like to schedule times, please call the office. Parents who do not contribute 17.5 hours of service per semester will be put on probation and, at the end of the year, their status will be reviewed. The ultimate penalty will be when a student does NOT participate in the high school graduation ceremony because their parents have not completed their 140 hours of service (35 hours per year).
Student Homework Accountability
It is expected that students complete all homework assigned by teachers. Parents will be responsible for making sure that students have the resources, time, and environment to complete all homework. Ánimo Venice encourages parents to check student’s homework assignments in the student’s agenda book every day. We highly recommend parents log these homework checks on the Off Campus Service Hour Log, which can then be submitted to Mrs. Matamoros for service hour credit.
PowerSchool
Every parent and every child receives a Powerschool login and password. This password allows them to keep up to date on school bulletins, student grades, class assignments, lunch balances, and also enables them to email teachers. It is a vital form of communication for our parents and students. Saturday workshops are held the first month of the school to introduce new parents to this system.

Communication Envelopes
Once a month on the first Tuesday, every student will be given large stuffed manila envelope. This envelope is our primary method of communicating school announcements to parents. School bulletins, event flyers, volunteer hour opportunities, etc are all communicated through this envelope. We expect you to ask your child for this envelope and to read its contents. You must then sign, date, and write how many sheets of paper you read. Parents will receive one service hour per signature.
