Green Dot stands with immigrants

July 8, 2020

Dr. Cristina de Jesus (CEO, Green Dot Public Schools California) issued the following statement in response to the guidelines that the United States Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE):

We denounce the new ICE guidelines that would prohibit international students staying in the United States if their programs switch to online learning this fall. Students should have the right to stay in the U.S., as many remote classroom options may switch back to in person with short notice, and vice versa.

Many Green Dot teachers, students, parents, and staff are immigrants, and we are thrilled to serve such a diverse community of individuals. We stand with all immigrants who have come to  the United States at every stage in our history to live, learn, and work, and we will continue to create space in our schools and workplaces for all, regardless of background.
