Four More Green Dot Public Schools Renewed by LAUSD

Seven schools were up for renewal this fall; all received charter renewals

December 8, 2020, LOS ANGELES, CA -- The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) board renewed the charters for Ánimo Florence-Firestone Charter Middle School, Ánimo James B. Taylor Charter Middle School, Ánimo Watts College Preparatory Academy, and Ánimo Ralph Bunche Charter High School. These come after Ánimo Ellen Ochoa Charter Middle School, Ánimo Legacy Charter Middle School, and Ánimo Jackie Robinson Charter High School were renewed in November.

“We are happy to continue our partnership with LAUSD in service of our students and families,” says Green Dot Public Schools California CEO & President, Dr. Cristina de Jesus. “We are proud that our schools help ensure there are high quality public education options that help support all students for college, leadership, and life.”

All charter schools are subject to routine renewals by their authorizers to ensure that commitments made regarding student achievement and public management are met--this accountability is among the most valuable features of the charter school approach.

Please contact [email protected] if you would like to speak with students, teachers, parents, or school leadership at the renewed schools.
