In the face of a tumultuous year, the charter school network celebrates many achievements

 

July 6, 2021 (LOS ANGELES, CA) -- Green Dot Public Schools California concludes the 2020-21 school year, celebrates 11 graduating classes of seniors, launches summer school, and prepares for the 2021-22 school year and fall. Between June and August, Green Dot will provide free academic support and extracurricular activities to all students, ahead of reopening all 19 schools on Wednesday, August 11 for in-person instruction 5 days a week. 

 

“We are very proud of our community of students, teachers, parents, and all staff for making it through this year so successfully,” says Dr. Cristina de Jesus, CEO & President of Green Dot Public Schools California. “As we’ve learned over the course of the pandemic, we will continue to remain flexible and adaptable in our plans, communicative with families, and supportive to all on campus.” 

 

Green Dot California celebrates another year of proven academic excellence, The U.S. News & World Report ranked nine Green Dot California high schools among the best in the nation in its 2021 Best High School Rankings. Further, Green Dot Public Schools California partnered with United Parents & Students and Saint John's Child & Family Center to adapt seven Green Dot schools into Covid-19 vaccination centers. Through this effort, Green Dot facilitated Covid-19 vaccinations for more than 1,500  people across South LA communities.

We made it through as a team, and we will continue to do so to make sure our community’s basic needs are met so our students can learn.”
