Green Dot schools are now enrolling incoming 9th graders for the 2009-2010 school year. Depending on where you live, you should either enroll in one of the Green Dot Jefferson schools or one of the Locke schools. Please read below for more information on how to enroll.

How to Enroll
Step 1: Contact the school you are interested in and fill out the one
page enrollment form before April 1, 2009. Download your enrollment form here.
Step 2: If a school receives less than 140 applications, your student will
automatically be admitted. If a school receives more than 140 applications,
a lottery will take place on April 15, 2009. A public drawing is held and the
first 140 numbers drawn will be offered a placement. All other students will be
placed on a waitlist.
Step 3: On April 20, 2009 notification of selected applicants will begin.
Wait listed students will be notified as openings become available.
Step 4: By May 15, 2009 all students must complete the enrollment
process by attending a registration night and submitting all required documents.
This is the final step before you start your Ánimo education!
All accepted students must attend a Summer Bridge Program to
familiarize them with the school and get them caught up and
prepared for the fall. Summer Bridge dates will be announced at
the end of May.
Locke Schools
All of the following schools are located on the main Locke campus, located at
325 E. 111th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90061

How to Enroll
Step 1: Obtain the one page enrollment form at the Locke Welcome
Center or in the main offices of Gompers, Bret Harte, Charles Drew, or Markham
Middle Schools. Forms can also be requested by calling (323) 420-2100 ext.
2. If you attend a LAUSD school and your address falls in the Locke attendance
area, a form will be mailed to your address on file. Or you can download a form here.
Step 2: Complete the enrollment form and turn it in to either the
Locke Welcome Center or the main office of any of the above middle schools.
If you have a school preference, please make sure to mark it accordingly by
April 17th.
Step 3: On the week of May 4, families will be notified of school
placement. Students who did not receive their 1st choice placement will be
waitlisted at that school and placed at another Locke school. If openings
become available, wait-listed students will be notified accordingly. Students will
remain at their school of placement once summer bridge begins.
Step 4: By June 1 all students must complete the enrollment process
by attending a registration night and submitting all required documents. Any
student that does not complete the enrollment paperwork may lose their place
in that school and will be placed in a Locke school based on availability.
All accepted students must attend a Summer Bridge Program to familiarize
them with the school, teachers, students, and to prepare them for the fall.
