Congratulations to the Animo Venice team for a great showing yesterday at the 2010 Animo Robotics competition against Animo Pat Brown.
In particular, congratulations to the team of Roman Cortes and Crystal Ramirez and their robot "Pepper Pots" for winning first place in both categories of the competition. Also, 83% of our robots were functional by the end of the day, compared to 36% of Animo Pat Brown's robots.
Thank you to all of the students and teachers who supported our cause, and thank you to the Green Dot home office for the $5000 that started the program.

First Annual All-School Beach Run This Friday, September 18, we hope to kick off an annual tradition of community service. We are hoping to take the entire school body on a beach run where they will conduct a simple act of kindness by helping clean up Venice Beach. Students who are participating will leave school at 2:30pm and proceed for a short run to the heart of Venice Beach.
We will do beach clean-up from 3:00 – 3:25 at which time we will excuse students at the beach. Students who wish to take the bus home will run or walk back to campus in time for the late bus run at 4:30pm.
We want to invite parents, family, and community members to join us on this special event. Feel free to meet us at 2:30pm on campus for the run or at 3:00pm on Venice beach for the cleanup. For more information, please see the letter below:
Each year, we take kids on college trips to the East Coast, Nor Cal, and SoCal. Please support us in giving these students an opportunity to see the world and get excited about college. Any donation amount would be greatly appreciated. For more information, click on the link below:
