REMEDIATION
If your child received a D or F in English, Biology, Spanish and/or Mathematics, it is vital that they take summer school in order to make up their credits. D’s meet high school graduation requirements but do not meet college entrance requirements. F’s do not meet either high school graduation or college entrance requirements.
In order to meet high school graduation and college entrance requirements, students must complete 4 years of college preparatory English, 2 years of Spanish (3 years recommended), 3 years of mathematics (4 years recommended), and 2 years of laboratory science (years recommended).
After completion of summer school, their grades will be recorded in their records under Summer 2005. Their summer school grades do not replace their Fall or Spring semester grades but are recorded alongside them. (Any fails that students receive during the school year stay on their transcript.)
Summer school is offered at your local high school. Please fill out the summer school registration form and contact your local high school for registration.
