Dear Parent of future Ánimo Venice Charter High School student,

 

Congratulations!  We are very pleased to inform you that your son/daughter has been selected to be part of our incoming freshmen class for the Fall of 2008.  Students, welcome to the Class of 2012!

 

Enclosed, you will find an enrollment packet for your student.  In order to secure a spot in this year’s 9th grade class, you must return the enrollment packet NO LATER than Friday May 2, 2008. 

 

Please make a special note of the mandatory dates on the back of this letter.  Placement exams for your child will take place on either May 17, 2008 or May 24, 2008.  In addition, the two week summer bridge Sessions I has been scheduled for June 30, 2008 thru July 11, 2008 and Session II has been scheduled for July 14, 2008 thru July 24, 2008.  The 9th grade Parent/Student Orientation has been tentatively scheduled for Saturday August 23, 2008.  Placement exams, Summer Bridge, and the Student/Parent Orientation are all mandatory events!

Adjunto encontrará un paquete de matriculación para su estudiante.  Para asegurar un lugar en la escuela, usted debe regresar el paquete de matriculación NO MAS TARDE DEL 2 de mayo del 2008.

 

Favor de prestar atención a las fechas MANDATORIAS detrás de ésta hoja.  Los exámenes de colocación serán el 17 de mayo y el 24 de mayo.  Aparte de los exámenes, cada alumno tiene que asistir al programa de Summer Bridge.  La primera sesión será el 30 de Junio hasta el 11 de julio.  La segunda sesión será el 14 de julio hasta el 24 de julio.  La Orientación de Padres/Alumnos será el 23 de agosto.  Los exámenes, el programa de Summer Bridge, y la Orientación son eventos mandatorios! 

 

Estamos emocionados con la nueva clase entrante de Ánimo Venice, y queremos dar la bienvenida a Usted y a su niño/a a la Familia de Ánimo.

MANDATORY DATES FOR INCOMING CLASS OF 2012

 

 

Enrollment Packet Deadline: Friday, May 2, 2008 

          Enrollment packets will only be considered complete if they include the Fall 2008 8th grade report card AND a current Spring 2008 semester progress report.  Current IEPs, if applicable, must also be included.  Enrollment packets will be distributed at the Lottery Night or mailed home the day after the lottery.

 

 

Placement Exams:

Saturday, 5/17/08          A- F Session I 9am-11:30am  

Saturday, 5/24/08          G-M Session II 9am-11:30am N-Z Session III 12pm-2:30pm

 

 

Summer Bridge Program:

One Week   Session I     6/30/08-7/11/08 (No classes on July 4th)

One Week  Session II    7/14/08-7/24/08 (No classes on Friday 7/25)

Last Names for each session will be distributed at the Placement Exams in May. 

 

9th Grade Parent/Student Orientation:

Tentative Date, Saturday August 23, 2008

 

Closing Message:

Your child must attend ALL of these dates in order to keep their spot at Ánimo Venice Charter High School.  If your child does not attend, we will call the first student on the wait list to fill the spot.

 

If you have a previous conflict with your child’s assigned date, then you can switch to another date.  However, you must call and notify Ms. Mendoza via e-mail, wmendoza@animo.org,  or by calling the main office (310) 641-6420.
