These are the instructions for putting webpages on the internet using Dreamweaver. If you are doing this for the first time, call me over to guide you through this. If this isn’t your first time putting webpages on the internet, use the instruction below to guide you.
Step 1: First, you need to create an account in Dreamweaver. Open the panel on the right, under “Files” click the blue down arrow and click on “Manage Sites…”

Step 2: Click “New” and then “Site.”

Step 3: Click “Advanced.”

Step 4: On the left, click on "Local Info." Enter a “Site Name.” Then, click on the small yellow folder to the right, where it says “Local root folder.” Go to My Documents and create a new folder. Open the folder and then click “Select”

Step
5: On the left, click on "Remote Info." Enter the information
that you see below:
Ö For
“Access,” choose FTP.
Ö For “FTP
host,” type “animostudents.org.”
Ö For “Host
Directory,” type “/sites”
Ö For
“Login,” use the information that I gave you in the email titled “Login and
Password for Website Project” Don’t put the
password, otherwise people can mess with your stuff.
Ö Make sure
“Use passive FTP” is checked.
Ö Make sure
“Enable file check in and checkout” and “Check out files when opening” are
checked. In the box where it says “Check out name”,
put the name of the person using the computer. Put the person’s email in
the box below.
Ö Make sure
all of the information is correct. This will not work if one little thing
is wrong. Click “OK” and then “Done.”

Step 6: Go to the main Dreamweaver window, and click EDIT à PREFERENCES. Click “Site” on the left, and then check that
the 2 boxes are checked where it says “Dependent Files”

Step 7: To see your website, go to Internet Explorer
and type “animostudents.org/~user20-###/” where “###” is the login user number
that you used in Step 5. To see your webpages,
type the name of your webpage after the last / . In
the example below, the name of the webpage is “timeline.htm” If you
had saved your webpage in a folder, you must type the name of the folder, type
a “/”, and then type the name of the file. For example, if your webpage
is in a folder named “tech,” then you would type “http://animostudents.org/%7user20-249/tech/timeline.htm.”

Step 14: That’s it.
